GIS team assists post-fire recovery in Cotter catchment Back to top  
    Case study: GIS assisted vegetation management: The Cotter catchment area was impacted severely by the 2003 Canberra bushfires. The Ecowise Environmental GIS team undertook mapping during May 2008 in order to assess the current state of the vegetation in the Lower Cotter Catchment forestry estate with outstanding results.

  AIRS for DBYD wins award at GITA conference:
At the recent annual GITA conference in Sydney, Energex won the Dial Before You Dig derby competition using Ecowise's AIRS for DBYD solution. Energex engaged the Ecowise GIS team late last year to install the award winning AIRS for DBYD to automate their map response processes.

New equipment increases Ecowise’s capacity:
The Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) is the instrument of choice in the environmental industry when analysing samples for ‘trace’ metals, due to its sensitivity and reliability; however, with current instruments these qualities are challenged when salinity is present at elevated levels.
