The MATS Instrument group supply a wide range of instruments and systems for the measurement and control of environmental information for science and industry.The Instrument Group supply and support a wide range of instruments for hydrology, meteorology, waste water industry, scientific and government agencies.Onsite consulting, assisting customers with the operation and maintenance of their current monitoring networks, assessing their future requirements.

The ALS Water Resources Group are committed to our customers and can offer a complete service from the initial design phase through to the installation and operation of monitoring systems. Our centralised purchasing system has staff dedicated to the efficient processing of your orders and delivery of equipment.

Instrument Group workshop

The MATS Instrument Group (IG) are a team of instrument technicians and Hydrographers with a diverse background of skills and the experience to provide the right solution. Our equipment is either built in house or sourced from suppliers who have a proven track record for cost effectiveness, reliability and service.

We offer a range of standard products we specialise in custom building systems to meet your specific requirements. Whether you require a pressure sensor, a weather station, or a complete hydrological and meteorological monitoring network, we can provide the solution to meet your requirements and budget.

All our systems are designed, assembled, tested and calibrated in our large modern workshop using NATA accredited systems and procedures. Our workshop operates under the the ALS Water Resources Group Quality System and is certified to ISO 9001.

Continuous refinement and development of our systems ensure we stay at the leading edge of technology, resulting in the provision of accurate, reliable and durable systems, under the harshest of conditions or in the most remote locations.

We offer a range of specialised services to complement our monitoring systems. We can advise on the best sensor for a particular application, carry out station installations or even supply, operate and maintain a complete monitoring network.

Instrument services

Custom design and supply of environmental monitoring systems including automatic weather stations (AWS), automatic water quality stations, waste water monitoring systems, sewer monitoring stations and air quality systems.

Design and supply of industrial telemetry solutions to permit remote operation of existing and new networks, including real time monitoring and control (SCADA), automatic data recovery, alarming functions (SMS) and delivery of data via the internet.

Repair, servicing, modification, calibration and back up support for all instruments and systems, including a programming service for most data loggers, sensors and telemetry systems. Technical training courses, tailored to meet the requirements of individual customers.

Field operations

  • Installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of environmental monitoring systems
  • Training and mentoring of field staff to operate and maintain hydrological and meteorological systems
  • Operation of data retrieval, monitoring and control systems

Service

Contact with our customers may extend several decades and encompass the upgrading of networks several times over. We provide repair, servicing, modification, calibration and back up support for all instruments and systems, including a programming service for most data loggers, sensors and telemetry systems.

Purchasing and technical Support

Our centralised purchasing system has staff dedicated to the efficient processing of your orders and delivery of equipment. Improved discounts and reduced freight costs are passed on to customers where possible.

The Instrument Group offers a Technical Support service to aid field staff and customers in all matters regarding the operation maintenance of instrumentation.
