Utilities
Ecowise currently manages the GIS development for all utilities in the ACT, water, electrical networks, gas and telecommunications. This major project, ActewAGL Corporate Mapping System (ACMS), equips Ecowise well to offer a range of specialised services in the utilities market, specifically:
- enterprise GIS solutions for utilities
- CAD-GIS integration
- data capture and improvement projects
- multi-factor GIS analysis
- software customisation and integrated business solution development
- map production.
Ecowise currently manages the Gas network data for ACT, Queanbeyan and Nowra. We also undertake GIS user support and development for local utilities, specialising in streamlining the workflow and automating common tasks, data improvement and field survey of network assets.
A Trimble TRS reference station for post processing GPS survey data is located in our Canberra office and available for public subscription.
Ecowise Geographic Information Solutions manages major capital works projects in relation to asset information improvement and DGPS survey. This includes ground truthing of assets.
We use Prince2 project management methodology.
Water Resource Management
Ecowise has a lengthy working relationship with ACTEW Corporation to carry out integrated water resource management within the catchments serving the ACT. This experience is available to our clients in the areas of:
- integrated catchment management studies
- catchment analysis
- environmental assessment and modelling
- catchment condition modelling and mapping
- hydrological and hydraulic modelling
- vegetation mapping
- soils and geology mapping
