How to Apply
Please read our application guidelines before submitting your application.
Application guidelines
Your application provides us with a picture of who you are. It is the best way for us to judge whether you should be interviewed for a position, and provides important information about your education, work history and experience.
A resume is the most professional way to present your qualifications for a job. As a guide, your resume should include the following information:
- education and training — list your academic qualifications and training courses in chronological order
- work experience — list your jobs in reverse chronological order, and include a brief description of your duties in each position, provide more detail for your current and more recent positions.
- referees — provide the names and phone numbers of at least two referees, including your current supervisor (where possible). Your referees should be able to comment on your previous work performance and your ability to fulfill the requirements of the position.
Your application should include a statement against the position profile.
This statement is your opportunity to demonstrate how your skills, abilities, work experience and qualifications enable you to satisfy the requirements of the position. Ensure that you have addressed all of the points in the "personal qualities" and "qualifications and experience" sections of the position profile.
When putting your application together, keep the following points in mind:
- be concise
- make your resume as legible as possible
- organise your application in an easy to follow format
- always check your grammar, spelling and punctuation
- your application should not be too long or have too much detail
- include relevant education and training
- prepare an application for each specific job, rather than using previous applications or very general applications
- include only necessary personal information.
