The ALS Water Resources Group offers a range of test packages which have been designed to meet the most common requests for water analysis.

The test report shows the numerical value for each test performed together with interpretative comments based on the relevant standards.

We have a number of packages available, including the following.

Domestic, Stock and Irrigation Package (tests include: pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, calcium, potassium, magnesium, hardness, sodium, iron, manganese, nitrate, chloride, sodium absorption ratio). This is the most popular package. It gives information on the use of the water for use in the home, including drinking and gardening. Irrigation and stock use are also included.

Irrigation and Stock Package (tests include: pH, electrical conductivity, calcium, potassium, magnesium, hardness, sodium, iron, manganese, sodium absorption ratio). This package will give you information regarding the use of the water for the garden and crops, and watering stock.

Complete Package – for sensitive crops (tests include: pH, conductivity, turbidity, alkalinity, chloride, sulphate, calcium, magnesium, hardness, sodium, potassium, iron, manganese, nitrate, boron, sodium absorption ratio). If you are growing fruit, citrus fruit in particular, this is the package for you. It includes analyses of chloride and boron, both of which can affect sensitive crops.

Water Tank Package – for older galvanised iron tanks (tests include: pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, metals scan). This is the appropriate package if you are concerned about corrosion of your tank water as it includes an analysis of metals. This will tell you whether lead from solders used in older tanks has built up to serious concentrations over the drought period, and other related metals problems.

Note: The above packages do not include microbiological analysis. We do not recommend microbiological testing of tanks and dams unless illness from the water is suspected.
